Each Friday, Univesta Insurance employees can wear jeans to work when they donate $2 to the MIRA Foundation. This raises thousands of dollars for the Foundation every year. This small gesture goes a long way to help not only visually impaired people and individuals of all ages living with mobility impairment, but also children with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Since its foundation in 1981, MIRA has trained over 3,000 service and guide dogs, and each one of those dogs represents a $30,000 investment by the Foundation. With innovative training methods, a partnership with rehabilitation experts, a one-of-a-kind guide dog program for children, a guide dog program for visually and hearing impaired people, and the development of a unique breed of Labernese (Saint-Pierre), founder and CEO Éric St-Pierre and his team have made MIRA into a renowned service and guide dog school.

MIRA does not receive any government funding and relies entirely on donations and income from various fundraising activities. It’s thanks to the continued support of people and businesses across Québec that MIRA is able to continue its important work.

Univesta Insurance supports causes that matter to its clients and employees, and the communities in which it operates and grows. Being lucky enough to enjoy the loyalty and commitment of its clients, Univesta feels compelled to give back by providing time and resources, to bring hope to those in need within our communities.

Univesta Insurance and Financial Services Inc. invites you to show your support for the MIRA Foundation by donating online — thank you for lending a hand. We would also like to take this opportunity to wish you Happy Holidays!
