    Program and Policy

    Who do I contact if I want to clarify something in person with someone regarding the my Driving Discount program?

    For questions about the my Driving Discount program or use of the device, please call our customer careat 1 855 251 6977 or email us at: mydrivingdiscount.novex@intact.ca.

    For questions about your automobile policy or changes to your personal information, please contact your independent insurance broker.

    What is my enrolment discount?

    Your enrolment discount is applied upon enrolling into the program. We have updated our enrolment discount from 10% to 5% for all New Business policies effective November 16,2016 and all renewal (existing) policies effective December 16, 2016.

    When will I receive my personalized discount?

    If you are eligible for a personalized discount, your premium will be adjusted at renewal upon the completion of your assessment period.

    How long is my assessment period?

    Your assessment period can last up to 9 months from when you install your device and start driving. If the assessment period cannot be completed prior to when your renewal is issued (not the effective date of the renewal), then the renewal will be issued with your enrolment discount. The personalized discount will be applied upon the subsequent renewal.

    How can I achieve the maximum discount?

    The better your driving habits the more you could save. Try to avoid rapid acceleration and hard braking. But the most important thing is your safety. If you need to accelerate or brake hard to avoid an accident, make sure you do! Also, the time of day you drive affects your discount so the less you drive during high-risk periods, the more you could save.

    How long will my personalized discount apply?

    Your personalized discount will be confirmed upon completion of your assessment period. If you are eligible for a discount, it will be automatically applied on your next renewal. You will remain eligible to receive discounts as long as you continue to be enrolled in the program.

    Can I change my mind and opt out of the program? If so, will my insurance policy be cancelled?

    Yes. You may opt out at any time. Your insurance policy will NOT be cancelled even if you opt out of my Driving Discount program. This program is optional. Please contact your broker if you have any questions.

    Can my premium go up because of my driving habits?

    Your premium will not increase as a result of the data used to calculate the discount. However, on renewal your enrolment discount will be replaced by a personalized discount based on your driving habits. This personalized discount can range between 0%-25%.

    How can I change my website password?

    To change your online password, go to your my Driving Discount website and simply click the “Change Password” link on the top right corner of your screen.

    Will my discount be reduced if I work night shifts?

    Statistically, you are more likely to be involved in an accident between 12 a.m. and 4 a.m. Therefore, your driving during this time of day will be taken into consideration when calculating your potential discount. However, my Driving Discount also takes into consideration the number of rapid acceleration and hard braking events to determine your potential discount.

    Can multiple principal drivers on the same policy enrol in the my Driving Discount program?

    Yes. Every principal driver on the policy can enrol if they meet the eligibility criteria.
